HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY SWEETHEART VIC, 7th September

This day although still full of sad memories is also brimmed with lovely and fantastic memories to, these will last for ever.

Back in 1997 we moved to Church Langton, into what was a little cottage with virtually no facilities to speak of, the location was the great plus, at the end of a narrow lane with open fields to the rear and the church to the front.

On seeing the cottage Vic really fell in love with it, the challenge of making the garden special and making her mark was something that she really wanted. It was hard work be you could see the pleasure she got as people that walked by commented on her achievement's.

Our daughter started her school life at the very well thought of Church Langton school, this got Vic involved in the fund raising on the school open days. Every thing was going well, she did have a bit of bad time when her mother pasted away. One thing the happened that gives me thought to what turned out later, we had a pantry that had four steps down to the floor, she lost her footing and fell very heavily and as it was very narrow was almost trapped. In pain I took her to the hospital, after exray,s etc they found that she had damaged the coxis and put the pelvis out of alignment, she was using crutches for sometime.

She was keen to get back to her garden, even the pain did not stop her and as she got better, off to Cornwall we went, Vic's favourite place, for holiday. Everything going along fine, there was still pain but the GP gave pain killers saying that it would take a very long time for this type of injury to come right.

Then a new opportunity came our way. We visited Oakham every now and then, passing through a lovely village called Horninghold. We always joked that when we win the lottery we would move  there, yes, we did win the lottery. A house was advertised the same day, then comes the second chapter in this story.

Birthday

Race for life will start here on 7th September 2013, the birthday of my very brave wife.
It will start with what looks to be the build up to how the disease came about and can it be brought on by factors not usually thought to do so.
